Cordae

Cordae, whose real name is Cordae Amari Dunston, is an American rapper and songwriter known for his thoughtful and introspective lyricism.  Cordae was born on August 26, 1997, in Raleigh, North Carolina, and later moved to Suitland, Maryland. He was exposed to music at an early age and began rapping as a teenager.

Cordae gained attention in the rap scene through his freestyles and performances, showcasing his impressive wordplay and storytelling abilities.In 2018, Cordae joined the YBN (Young Boss N*ggas) collective, a group of young rappers who gained popularity through their online presence and music. Under the moniker "YBN Cordae," he released tracks with the collective, including the hit "Kung Fu."

 

Cordae's solo breakthrough came in 2018 when he released the track "Old Ns," a powerful and insightful commentary on generational divides and societal issues. The song quickly gained traction and brought Cordae further recognition.

In 2019, Cordae released his debut solo studio album, "The Lost Boy." The album received critical acclaim and showcased his versatility as an artist, blending elements of conscious hip-hop, storytelling, and introspection.

Cordae's debut album "The Lost Boy" earned him a nomination for Best Rap Album at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards.

He has collaborated with prominent artists in the industry, including Anderson .Paak, Chance the Rapper, and Meek Mill, among others. These collaborations have further solidified his position in the rap community.
